We Honor Veterans

Summit Healthcare is proud to have achieved a Level Five status in 2020 - the highest level within the We Honor Veterans program. Only 65 other hospices in the nation currently have Level Five status.

Awards & Achievements:

We Honor Veterans was designed by the Veteran's Administration and the NHPCO to support our veterans during the transitional time in their lives.

We have earned the honor of being able to perform the special Pinning Ceremony to thank our veteran(s) for their incredible service.  We not only perform Pinning Ceremonies for our individual patients, but we also do community wide ceremonies.

Our staff is educated on the specific needs of veterans depending upon the era that they served and whether they were in active duty during a wartime.

“I had to send out a BIG thank you to everyone who has been a part of General Edwin “Dave” Woellner’s (pictured above) care over the years here at Summit! His wife Jean mentioned, “how I’ve never met Lindsey, but am so happy to always hear her voice on the phone when I call the office. Jean also mentioned how wonderful “Andy” and Ena have been, in going the extra mile with honoring her husband. Jean LOVES Summit and all that they have done for General Woellner, who was a POW in WWII. They had an amazing time at the ceremony organized by Summit at Luke Air Base, celebrating General Woellner’s service to our country. It was such a special admission, and Jean is determined to “graduate Dave again- because he wants to make it to 100!”

Thank you to our amazing team and leadership- it was so touching hearing Jean’s stories last night.”
